Ingredients
1 (15oz.) can of black beans, drained and rinsed (or 1 3/4 cups)
1/3 cup + 1 tablespoon gluten-free rolled oats
1 large shallot, roughly chopped (or 1/2 medium onion)
2 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
1/2 tablespoon old bay seasoning or Italian seasoning (or your blend of choice)
Kimo's ONO Grindz Chili Pepper Water (all the solids and 1 Tbsp of the liquid parts)
Black pepper, to taste
Preparation
In the bowl of a food processor, add in all of the ingredients and process for 15 to 20 seconds, or until the mixture begins to come together, scraping the sides as needed.
Place the bowl of the food processor (or you can scrape all of the mixture into a small bowl) into the refrigerator for 30 minutes to set.
Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat and set aside. (If you want to speed up the cooking process, you can cook these burgers on a pan. I suggest heating about 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and cooking the patties on each side until browned, about 5 minutes per side.)
Remove the bowl from the fridge. Scoop out 1/2 cup-sized scoops from the mixture and using wet hands, form the mixture into patties. Place the patties onto the prepared baking sheet and place them into the oven for 15 minutes. Flip the patties over and then bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the patties are browned and feel solid.
Shake on Kimo's ONO Grindz Jalapeno Chili Pepper Water and other condiments that you want. Enjoy!
